Juniors and seniors at Carroll County High School participated in a career fair sponsored by the Area Technology Center last week. Students spoke with prospective employers, schools and branches of the military. (More photos on the district Facebook page.)
February is CTE (Career and Technical Education) month. Here is a glimpse of some welding students at the Carroll County Area Technology Center.
The boys’ and girls’ 31st District basketball tournament will be held at Carroll County High School next week, Feb. 26-March 1.
The tournament opens on Monday, Feb. 26 with Carroll County’s Lady Panthers playing Henry County at 6 p.m. and the Carroll County Panthers playing Trimble County at 7:30 p.m.
Spectators should park in the main parking lot by Carroll County High School and enter the building through the west side gym entrance. Doors will be marked with signage.
Admission is $8 per person per night. It will only be a cash gate. Children aged 4 and younger are free.
Coach, superintendent, administrator, school board member and officials’ cards will be accepted, but no plus one guest is allowed.
Fan seating will be assigned each night. No signs, posters or noise makers are allowed.
Game footage will be provided via Hudl exchange for each game.
Please join us for a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. in the CCMS cafeteria. We value your input on the strategic plan process and setting the goals for our district.
Several members of the CCHS track team earned spots in the Indoor State Track Meet.
The top 24 in each event qualifies for the state meet. They will compete on March 3 at Norton Healthcare & Sports Learning Center in Louisville. The meet starts at 2 p.m.

Jeff Fremin, the work-based learning coordinator at CCHS and a military veteran, helped Chevy Fountain and Cole Crawford hang a U.S. flag at the high school last week.

Panther families, a reminder that school is not in session on Monday, Feb. 19. It is a teacher work day. We will welcome students back on Tuesday!

Students in fourth and eighth grades recently got to learn about classes and programs at the high school, iLEAD, ATC and JCTC. They also got to speak with several local employers during a career expo at the middle school. (More photos on the district Facebook page.)
A parent meeting is scheduled for student athletes on the middle and high school track and field teams.
Each Friday CCHS students are introduced to a number of careers that coincide with their interest and aptitude. Tourism and hospitality professionals spoke to the students recently.
You're never too old to celebrate Valentine's Day and compete for the best decorated box in the classroom. At least that's the spirit in Diane Glen's pre-nursing class at the Carroll County ATC. Students in the morning and afternoon classes celebrated the holiday.
